Laura Gilbert is the Sr. Program Manager of National Service, overseeing both Expanded Learning (EXL) and the statewide Volunteer Infrastructure Project (VIP). Laura was born in California and grew up in the Central Valley town of Stockton, CA. Laura later graduated from UC Davis with a BA degree in English. She then served with AmeriCorps NCCC for two years as a member on the East Coast and a team leader on the West Coast. Laura’s AmeriCorps experience was so impactful and life changing that it led to a lifetime of service, now totaling over 15 years of Nonprofit management and fund development experience. She has been with Napa County Office of Education since 2018 and believes passionately in civic engagement and her role to inspire and grow our future leaders in social justice, education, and public service. In return, she is constantly inspired and learning from her AmeriCorps members! She can often be caught thinking she is still a member herself.
Laura currently lives in Sebastopol, CA with her family who loves to backpack and spend time adventuring between the ocean, redwoods and mountains.
