
The State Seal of Civic Engagement program was adopted by the Napa County Board of Education, June 9, 2026.

Application Preparation:
- Academic Counselor Verification Form (Link) Academic Counselor Verification.docx
- Civic-Mindedness Reference Form (completed by an educator, mentor, co-worker, supervisor, or a civic partner or leader) (Link) Civic-Mindedness Reference Form.docx
- Final Artifact of your project (video, written essay, photos, etc.)
Application Completion
Be prepared to upload the 3 application preparation items listed above as well as complete the following reflection question sets in the application:
- Self-Reflection of your project (you can review ahead of time in the handbook)
- Student Civic Engagement Meeting Reflection (you can review ahead of time in the handbook)



Junior year of high school: Review application and begin project
Senior year of high school: Build application components
Submit application (link to portal)
Deadline for Submission: March 31 of senior year of high school
Application Review by NCOE
Students receive Approval confirmation: May 31 of senior year of high school
